Roberto, until then businessman, began training bjj in 2008 at BTT JF. He already did boxing, judo and muay thai, and he were taken by friends to jiu jitsu class, and didn't stop anymore. Months later, Roberto has excelled in his first competition, as a white belt. Asked why he left his entrepreneurial career to devote himself entirely to jiu jitsu, he said that he has always wanted to dedicate himself to jiu jitsu, and now that he is at a stabilized stage of life, he can put his plan into practice.

The truth is that Roberto has been standing out in several international championships of the IBJJF, and the professionalization is inevitable and necessary. Only in 2017, Roberto has already obtained 7 podiums: Gold at the Belo Horizonte Open in Brazil; Gold at the Rome Open in Italy, Gold at Boston Open, Gold at Washington Open, Silver at New York Open and Bronze at NY Pan American. The guy is a beast and a resilience symbol! At the Washington Open he sprained his knee in the first fight, but continued to fight until the end, and got the first place.

Roberto's training routine consists of jiu-jitsu classes from Monday to Saturday, alternating during the week with functional and aerobic training. The athlete dedicates himself entirely to Jiu Jitsu, and does not intend to migrate to MMA. He is known to have a very strong guard half, Roberto intends to compete as much as possible in 2018, and get the best results to get the first place in the international ranking.

Let's hope for the Brazilian Top Team brown belt champion!
