This weekend was a incredible one for BTT Austin. Our team entered the fray to compete at the Austin Summer International Open IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Championship, held on July 20th and 21st at the Round Rock Sports Center in Texas, and it took first place in the No Gi competion. At the GI and Kids division, BTT Austin placed number four.

Diego Gamonal had an outstanding performance. He won the No Gi division in the adult black belt and placed second in the Gi division as a light heavyweight. Who also did very well, was the BTT Austin's leader: Ruy Frade. He not only coach his athletes, but put his Gi on and earned the silver medal at the Master 2, Middle division.

"It's great to see this amazing results. BTT athletes actually dominated in No Gi. Many tough fights in a very competitive event. In addition to the trophy for the best team, I still managed to win my division, closing the day as an athlete champion and as a professor. I want to thank again my partner Ruy Frade, my master Murilo Bustamante, my professor Ricardo Marques, and my wife, who always helps me in everything. And congratulations to all the athletes who competed and supported each other", celebrated Diego Gamonal.

The BTT team is now gearing up for the IBJJF's Orlando International Open Jiu-Jitsu this weekend that will take place at Silver Spurs Arena in Florida. Once again the championship will have both GI and No Gi.
